Fashion that changes the world

Kate Spade Creative Director, Deborah Llyod is onto something amazing. She is part of the organization, Women for Women International, and is using Kate Spade as a launching pad. Llyod has employed women in war torn countries to make beautiful hand crafted beaded necklaces and fantastic woven totes (perfect for any spring wardrobe). She will then sell these items in Kate Spade stores and online country-wide. On Lloyd's most recent trip to Rwanda, Marie Claire magazine went along to investigate ( issue on newstands now). When Llyod asked one of  the Rwanda women what they want most from her, the woman replies, "Please keep sending us more orders". In the article Lloyd quotes "The transformation in these women is amazing", and "You just don't want the income to stop for these women".

You can read more for yourself at Katespade.com or in the March issue of Marie Claire. Happy Shopping!
